Glanyrafon industrial estate was built in the 1980s and the early 1990s, it is near Llanbadarn Fawr.
The units on Aberystwyth industrial estate houses a wide range of businesses and services, there are two builders merchants, plumbers and electrical suppliers, car spares companies, windows and glazing people, car and and tool hire to.
It’s also the location for Aberystwyth household waste site, a large waste transfer station, and the sewerage works.
The companies on the industrial estate create employment for quite a lot of people in the town.
Some of the largest employers there are the county council and the post office who have big buildings and sites.
One of the most well-known companies is Rachel’s dairy who send yogurt all around the country.
There are also some very unusual companies on the estate, SRM who make parts for old fashioned motorbikes have customers from all over the world because they are a very unique company.
As Aberystwyth town grows larger the industrial estate cannot because on one side there is a very steep hill and on the other there is the river Rheidol.
